What Do The Suites Offer?

Every suite and villa is fully air-conditioned, with a modern decor in the traditional style. The suites are comfortable and have both cable TV and wireless internet access. They are en-suite with a bath and shower and have balconies which overlook the resort's well tended grounds. A direct-dial phone is available in each room and there is also a private security box.

Things To Do And See In The Area

There are various tours and trips to make in Kololi which include quad biking, safari trips and fishing. Shopping is also a popular activity with hand-carved animals being very popular indeed. For local trips it is worth hiring a local guide to see the real Gambia and ensure you get the best out of your trip. Sea View resort staff will advise you of local guiding companies.

Of course Kololi's beaches are one of the main reason that guests return here year after year and the coastline is superb. The view is one of rustic hotels and guesthouses, noisy nightspots, quiet and dignified old villas, new low-rise hotels and restaurants catering for the tourists. It's lively and fun and has a very tourist friendly feel. The quarter of Senegambia is a hotspot for development and the hub of the local tourist industry, busy with taxi drivers, road side vendors, sales people and touts all vying for attention! For something quieter, head further inland to the leafy village, or to the north of Palma Rima.

As well as the beautiful and expansive man-made beach, there's the tiny nature reserve of Bijilo Forest, which offers lovely sights such as monkeys and fascinating fauna and flora. If art is your thing, then you might also enjoy the Village Gallery in the village, which showcases local works from the Gambia and West Africa.

For a day drip, head down to Tanji to see the fishermen at work, or follow the coast to see the beaches at Kartong. Kotu palm groves are a bird watcher's paradise and other local tours will involve James Island, Lamin's mangrove creeks and local villages.

Nightlife

There is a good range of entertainments at the Sea View Gardens resort at night, including cocktail nights where bartenders will mix you a range of exotic and tropical specialities and BBQ nights where you can enjoy excellent food outside in a social atmosphere. The resort puts on jazz bands and local musicians along with other cultural entertainers such as dancers. The onsite Jasmine Restaurant is a great choice for an evening meal, with a great a la carte menu which can include any fish you may have caught that day on one of the resort's fishing excursions!

Kololi town is just 80 metres away from the resort and it has everything you could need for a pleasant holiday evening, including shops, bars and restaurants.

For eating out, there are plenty of options. If you are looking for snacks, there's a mini mart down the road which offers groceries and other essentials. Local restaurants include the Green Mamba Garden and Wild Monkey and these are popular with tourists for their seafood and steak meals at excellent prices. There are over thirty restaurants in Kololi alone, offering something for every taste. Drink wise there are a lot of bars and they serve local spirits, cocktails, wines and beers - try some local Gambian beer for a true experience!

Facilities On Site

There is a swimming pool for guests which is well sized and has loungers and parasols around it. There is a massage parlour for guests who wish to unwind and take advantage of the range of treatments on offer. A beauty salon and hairdresser is also on site to help you look your best whilst on holiday.

The on site restaurant offers a range of international, African and European food and guests at the resort receive special offers for dining there. The resort also puts on a free taxi service to the restaurant and the Cotton Club for its guests and there are 'buddies' to look after you when out and about in Kololi if you should wish to have some local advice on the area as you find your feet.

Getting There And Travelling Around

Sea View Gardens resort is just 400 metres away from Kololi beach and 80 metres away from Kololi town. It is best to travel by cab, but reserve yours through the hotel and check that the meter is running! Banjul Airport is around a 15 minute drive away and you can either organise a hotel transfer, or hire car as an alternative to the cabs.
