Sheraton Gambia Resort and Spa

The Sheraton Gambia Resort and Spa is a luxury resort situated along the beachfront providing you with the idyllic views and scenery one would expect from the perfect beach holiday. Located near to the village of Brufut this secluded hotel offers both beach holiday and spa experience. There is a wide range of activities available and things to do making it one of those locations that is ideal for people who want a hotel-based holiday. The lively resort of Kololi is just 10 minutes drive away by taxi so if it's lively nightlife, restaurants, bars and casinos you are after you can always head in the Kololi direction.

All rooms at the hotel have satellite TV, Mini Bar, telephone, hairdryer, safe, complimentary Sheraton toiletries, balcony or terrace, 24-hour room service and high speed internet access for a small charge per day. It is possible to book connecting rooms making this an ideal choice for families. The hotel boasts four restaurants with the Crematata Restaurant offering international cuisine in a casual and relaxed atmosphere, the Belafonte Restaurant offering a good choice of steaks and seafood with a beachfront setting and the Treetop Restaurant offering a variety of cuisines to suit all tastes with a sea view setting. There is also a poolside bar called the Bar A Kuda that serves light snacks.

The resort also has its own spa that offers a variety of beauty treatments and relaxing massages. There's a large swimming pool and also a separate children's pool and you can get involved in a number of sporting activities organised by the hotel including table tennis, beach volleyball, billiards, darts, aerobics, fishing and boat rides. There are also some children's activities organised. There is evening entertainment each night featuring local music and bands, local dancing and discos.

The hotel runs its own shuttle bus twice a day dropping off at Kololi or the nearby capital Banjul. Otherwise the best way to travel is by taxi. The hotel will be able to help you organise a taxi. Some taxis can be booked for day trips at a fixed price with the driver also acting as your guide. Other taxis operate similar to a bus service. These taxis travel fixed routes and will pick up other travellers along the way.

There is lots to see and do in the area and you can arrange to go on jeep or river safaris. There are also an abundance of national parks in the area should you wish to experience the local flora and fauna, another popular tourist destination is the Katchikally Crocodile Pool. There are also some great craft markets in the area where you can pick up some hand made local crafts including silver and other jewellery, batiks, musical instruments and woodcarvings.

Flights from the UK arrive at The Gambia's Banjul Airport and the hotel is just ten minutes drive from the airport.
