Airports, Airlines and Flight Times to The Gambia

There is only one airport in the Gambia, it is in an area called Yundum, located 15 miles from Banjul. The airport is named Banjul International Airport. Banjul is fairly small in comparison to other African airports but has everything you will expect to see there.
Banjul airport has a bank and a post office offering foreign exchange facilities. It has a restaurant serving meals and snacks and a bar offering refreshments too. There is a brilliant duty free shop in Banjul airport, offering a wide range of duty free goods and some amazing bargains too.
Banjul is host to a fabulous business centre often used for local business meetings and can be hired at a very reasonable rate.
Banjul is an international airport, with 2 cargo terminals, 7 check in desks and 2 baggage claim belts, and once through passport control, you will find a short term car park and a taxi rank. This is the area where your transfers coaches also leave from, and where your tour operators usually wait for your arrival. If you have any problems on arrival into Banjul airport, there is a tourist information help desk with helpful English speaking staff on hand.
Flight Times to The Gambia
Flights to Gambia are approximately 6 hours from most U.K airports, various airlines serve Gambia. There is the charter (holiday) flights which tend to run from October until April and they are companies such as Thomas Cook, Thomson and Monarch. However there is scheduled airlines too serving Banjul from the U.K and they are Condor, Brussels Airways, Royal Air Maroc and Vikings Airways, mostly serving banjul from Heathrow airport and of course there original country airports too.
Flights into Gambia can be obtained from many U.K airports, and more and more are being added each year. Gatwick and Manchester are the main routes, however local departure airports such as Bristol, Birmingham, Stansted, East Midlands and Glasgow can be served to Banjul too.
