Weather in Gambia

As with most African countries the weather is typically hot with continuous sunshine with very little rainfall for 8 out of 12 months of the year.

The main Gambian resorts enjoy both the benefits of the warm Atlantic winds from the west and the position of Gambia between the Tropic of Cancer and the Equator gives this region which is roughly the size of Yorkshire a continual summer feel.

On occasion the te4mperatures can top 40 degrees celcius inland so take precautionary measures with plenty of sunblock with a high factor if you are fair skinned.

Africa does experience a storm season so if you are traveling to Gambia between August and September take something to protect against the rain. The weather in Gambia is predictable and typically hot.
